Welcome to the Englewood Area

Boat dockage is available, and is located directly across the road on lovely Lemon Bay. Here you will encounter the greatest “back-water fishing” in this part of Florida. Stump Pass State Park is located just to the south of our area, and offers beautiful nature walks and an opportunity to observe the protected sea turtles that come ashore between May and October to lay their eggs. Snook, Tarpon, and other species are in abundance according to the season, and boaters and anglers know for sure they are in Paradise here on Manasota Key! Many of our guests fish right at the edge of the beach, while others make use of boats and charters. Boat outings and fishing expeditions are easily arranged.

Shelling, Swimming, Sunning, Snorkeling, Walking the beach, Kayaking, Bicycling, and other warm weather activities are all within feet of your cottage door, and you can be as active as you wish, or just indulge in the relaxing sounds of the beach with a good book.

Beaches, Trails and Parks

Though Pelican Shore Cottages is situated directly on the beach, you may want to see other portions of our gorgeous shoreline. Englewood features three public beaches: Englewood Beach, Middle Beach, and Manasota Beach. Additionally, the area features many public parks and nature preserves suitable for hiking and bicycling.
